April 24 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-governmental sector in Romanian banks grew 11.4% year-on-year to 584.4 billion lei ($125.5 billion/117.4 billion euro) in March, following an annual increase of 11.6% in February, the central bank, BNR, said.
Leu deposits increased 17% on the year in March, reaching 411.45 billion lei, compared to 17.5% annual growth in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report on Wednesday.
Foreign currency deposits increased 0.2% on the year to 173 billion lei in March, compared to a 0.05% drop in February.
